O.K. so this post is not about me promoting any company or asking you to join the next best online network marketing model.
Quite the opposite!
I recently read a facebook post from my friend Diane Hochman…and felt the need to respond–but not in the typical fashion…because I do not write on my blog everyday I thought it was time that I write…so here goes.
To start with you have to know what Diane wrote on Facebook–if you're not already following Diane's Facebook stream you should. She has some incredible insight to the online world of marketing.
To quote Diane–which at this writing–had generated about 60 responses.
Sometimes I get really tired of watching everyone posture and prance her on Facebook in the home business community.
I'd love to see a day where everyone just GETS REAL.
Just one day.
You can go look at her wall to read all the responses–I won't post them all here…
Sooo…I started reading the responses and I thought you're right Diane–I get tired of seeing my news feed filled up with "Join me…join this..the next best thing since sliced-bread, mine's better, don't join them…me, me, me, me!!!, cuz our team is the best, I make 5 figures every month, blah blah blah, we have the formula, we discovered the secret to this game, and we are the only one's who know it, new, bestest, way to build your business!
OK–folks–there is NOTHING new in the world of network marketing–NOTHING! Yeah, that will probably have people saying–you're wrong Holly and we have the secret…
Honestly, it's always been about the people–always! It's not this tool or that tool or this group or that group or this product or that product.
Success is not always about money–although that does help 🙂
I've been in this business a long time–1981 I started out with Amway–and stepped away from the MLM hype a few years ago. That doesn't mean I won't go back to network-marketing (MLM) because I do love the industry–just now I think I'll do it without the hype–it'll be a quiet success…well maybe not too quiet.
My success shows in a much quieter way with 7 full-time employees (daughters and cousins), 4 part-time (school-teacher daughter and 3 of her school-teacher friends), and 14 on my outsourced Filipino team.
A year ago January it was just me and 4 on my outsourced team. I'm not bragging–at times sitting back and watching my team work and realizing that I am responsible for their financial well-being can be scary-crazy. Thank goodness I have my hubby to keep me grounded.
Anyway–I've learned a lot from Diane–the way she works–her integrity, honesty, and insight is amazing–esp with all the hype online–she always keeps it real.
Sooo yes let people know about your success–it's o.k. just not in a loud-obnoxious way. But more than that–lift people up, don't always brag about your success…you, you, you…or your upline's sucess–find the Mom who just got her first check or the one who just made their first video or someone who stepped out of their comfort zone and reached out to someone–and congratulate them.
Because if you don't build real relationships–when your MLM fails–and it's a 90% chance that it will–you have nothing left but the relationships you've built.
