I like that my FB feed shows memories and two years ago this week Jesse and I were still in the mountains; missing our family sooooo much and I ended up in the hospital.
I got sick and my body said that’s enough. Of course being a heart patient the Dr’s didn’t take any chances and admitted me. They ended up taking me off one of my pills (I can’t remember which one) that was making me feel week and light headed and felt like I was going to pass out.
Fast forward two years. I’ve lost 50 lbs (since 2016); I’m up at 5:30 am and walking on the treadmill by 6:30 am. I do a plank for one minute a day and I’m on my way to being the healthiest I’ve been in years.
It’s a journey and I’m so glad I didn’t quit. Last year on January 2 I walked into WW with three goal in mind:
- I would not quit
- I would attend every single meeting
- I would stay for every single meeting
I am proud to say that I accomplished all of those goals. Through a hurricane, my dog dying, my sister in the hospital, my daughters car accident and my friend passing.
I’ve been a weight watcher on and off for many many years BUT I never lasted for more than a few weeks (maybe a month or two and that was many moons ago). BUT never for a full year.
This January I decided that I would also add more stuff to my morning and days.
- a one minute plank everyday
- reading everyday – for the most part I was already doing this
- an apple a day
- walking at least 7K steps a day – BTW I’m averaging 11K steps
- remain a weight watcher…
- use my daily planner (written) – I use Mels 5 second journal
- practice my miracle morning routing; some of which are included in this list
Imagine if I had quit last year when the first week of WW I only lost 2/10 of a pound! I would not have gone from a size 24 to an 18. So for those of you who are thinking I’m done – I only lost 1/10 or 2/10 of a pound in my first week – I am BEGGING you, “Do NOT QUIT” You’ll be glad you didn’t.
